Handmade necklaces from our Toronto studio

Our necklaces are designed and handcrafted in our Toronto studio by artisan-goldsmiths Christian Hasler and Helen Kim-Hasler. The collection includes natural gemstone necklaces, one-of-a-kind designs and more understated pieces, each developed with careful attention to proportion, colour, length and how the necklace sits when worn.

We work in 14K and 18K gold and sterling silver, often combining our handcrafted elements with premium-quality manufactured chains selected to suit the design.

Depending on the necklace, the chain may be used as manufactured or become part of a more complex piece assembled by us in the studio. When components need to be joined, adjusted or incorporated into the necklace, the connecting wire work and assembly are completed by us by hand. Some necklaces are entirely made by hand using solid wires and bars. The individual product description always explains the construction of the piece and exactly what is included.

Natural gemstones and original designs

Natural gemstones are an important part of many of our necklaces. As GIA-trained gemmologists, we personally consider colour, cut, proportions and individual character when selecting stones for a design. Our extensive collection of loose natural gemstones, acquired over many years from sources around the world, gives us the opportunity to work with a broad range of colours and gem materials when developing new pieces.

Many of our necklaces are one of a kind or made individually in small numbers. Each piece is carefully considered as a complete design, from the centre element or gemstone through to the chain, connections, overall length and final finish.

Our necklaces can be viewed by appointment in our Toronto showroom, and selected pieces are available directly through our online shop for shipping within Ontario and across Canada.

Custom necklaces and jewellery remodelling

We can create a necklace around a gemstone from our own collection or incorporate suitable gemstones from jewellery you already own. Existing pieces can also be remodelled when there are elements worth preserving, allowing a treasured stone or component to become part of something new.

Chain style and length can often be adapted as part of a custom design or to suit the way you prefer to wear a necklace.
