18K Yellow Gold Emerald Ring

Design Story

This ring continues one of our favourite design directions: an emerald cut framed by baguette diamonds in an epaulette style. The vivid green of the Zambian emerald is balanced by the clean flashes of the two baguettes, creating an elegant composition with a strong proportions. We curved and brushed the shoulders of the shank to add a softer transition into the top of the ring and to create a subtle contrast with the brighter surfaces around the gemstones. The warmth of 18K yellow gold adds richness to the emerald while keeping the overall design refined and wearable. It is a distinguished one-of-a-kind ring with the presence to mark an engagement or another important personal occasion.

Gemstone Details

• 1 natural emerald cut emerald, 1.24 ct (TW), VS clarity, Type III GIA, excellent cut; Zambian origin. Minor oil.
• 2 natural baguette cut diamonds, 0.17 ct (TW), F colour, VS1 clarity, excellent cut.

Metal, Setting and Wearability

The ring is handmade in solid 18K yellow gold and weighs 5.30 grams. The emerald and baguette diamonds are set across the top in a balanced epaulette layout, while the curved shoulders have a brushed finish that contrasts gently with the gemstone settings. The top setting measures approximately 8.50 x 0.65 mm, giving the ring a substantial feels without becoming overly formal.

Gemmologist’s Note

Emerald is a GIA Type III coloured gemstone, so natural inclusions are normally expected even in fine material. This Zambian emerald is notably clean for its variety, with only low relief inclusions and a bright, vivid appearance. Its minor oil treatment is stated for accuracy and is consistent with the traditional care used to improve the visibility of surface-reaching inclusions. The stone’s clarity, lively green colour, and well-defined emerald cut give it a particularly refined and valuable presence.
