14K Yellow Gold Montana Sapphire Ring

Design Story

We designed this ring to showcase one of the finest teal sapphires we have found from Montana. Its lively greenish blue colour carries the distinctive balance of blue and green that makes Montana sapphire so appealing, and we wanted the design to preserve that individuality. The sapphire stands as the clear focus, while the line of diamonds along the shoulders introduces more light and sparkle without distracting from its colour. Warm yellow gold gives our teal sapphire a richer contrast. The result is a refined solitaire with a contemporary sense of colour, created for someone who appreciates an unusual natural sapphire with genuine character.

Gemstone Details

• 1 natural oval cut blue sapphire, greenish blue teal colour, SI1 clarity, 1.88 ct; Montana origin.
• 12 natural round brilliant cut diamonds, F-G colour, SI1 clarity, 0.18 ct tw.

Metal, Setting and Wearability

The ring is handmade in solid 14K yellow gold and weighs 3.20 grams. The oval sapphire is held in four curved U-shaped prongs above a rounded band, with micro pavé diamonds set along the shoulders. The top measures approximately 8.00 x 6.50 mm, giving the centre stone clear presence.

Gemmologist’s Note

Montana sapphires are especially valued for their individual blue, green, and teal colour combinations. This natural sapphire is a particularly bright and lively example, with the balanced teal colour we look for from this geological region. Its oval cut allows the shifting blue and green tones to remain visible as the ring moves in the light. This sapphire has been heat treated.
